ملخص: An on-line y-ray coincidence system conceived to investigate efficiently isotopes with short half life is described. Some basic principles and applications of Germanium timing are discussed. Gamma-ray coincidence measurements on the decay of 120 cs have been undertaken at the NSF, Daresbury (England). The activity has been collected directly on the main focal plane of the mass separator by means of a new tape transport system developed at Sussex University. Given is a listing of the y-transitions occurring in the B-decay of 120 cs, whose half life, using a time frame generator has been found to be 62 s. Some asymmetries and multipole mixing rations have been calculated and spin state assignments have been confirmed.
