ملخص: The use of nonuniform spacings in array design problems has received a great deal of interest in the last three decades. This is because such structures offer the possibility of realizing arrays with better performance than uniformly spaced arrays for the same number of elements. In this thesis, the investigation is focused on nonrecursive digital filters. The frequency sampling technique is explored with derivation of impulse response coefficients for frequency samples placed at integer values and midway between integer values. The general case where samples are arbitrarily placed is then studied with derivation of the corresponding frequency response. The effect of nonuniform sampling in the frequency domain is assessed by studying some design examples and comparing them to standard design methods. Finally, a method based on equiripple design for filters with nonequidistant taps is described. Some results are obtained and compared to filters designed using Parks and McClellan algorithm. The implementation of this type of filter is also considered.
