ملخص: Basic wired-telephony is under threat. The reason ? The rapid growth in mobile radio communications since the introduction of cellular sustems. Today's technological developments are about to allow a transition from so-called vehicular communications to personal (hand-portable) communications. In order to provide a globale coverage for such services, the utilisation of satellites has been thought of, so to complement esisting terrestrial networks.
